Sundeep Singh (34) , Application Engineer, joined us in January of 2007.
Sunshine brought by Sundeep into FSEU’s Multimedia Department!
How did you come to work for FSEU?
I was working in a company in Munich, where someone had left to join FSEU. This was my first point of contact, apart from internet research. The move to FSEU seemed like the next logical step in my career path.
What were your first impressions when starting here?
First of all, I had a very smooth transition from the old to my new job with valuable support from the FSEU Human Resources department. Secondly, I was impressed by how well equipped everything was from a technical point of view. Finally, I had some very good trainings in France and Germany right at the beginning.
What’s your work environment like?
I enjoy a very healthy work environment. There is a close interaction with the customer, making work life dynamic and lively. I am given a big amount of responsibility, and I can add my own skills into “the big game”. I like the trustful relationship with my manager and the amount of responsibility given to me. In a fast market, priorities change. I can approach my manager any time, and re-evaluate necessary steps to take.
What can you say regarding your professional development?
Apart from specific trainings, my skill development takes place on a day-to-day basis. We all have half-year goal plans, which give us directions on what to achieve during a 6-months’ period. The expectations our managers are high, but that’s all the more motivating. At the end of the day, this is a win-win situation for both, company and employee.
What is so special about working for FSEU?
I love the fact that I can see what I worked for. In other companies, you may work for years without seeing your contribution to the end product. Here, the drivers that are developed are used by all our customers and set-top box manufacturers. So satellite receivers in Europe, North America, South America and Asia carry my contributions. This is a very satisfying feeling.

Raimund Sönning (41) is employed as Manager Hardware Development in our Graphics Competence Center in Munich.
What was the key reason for you to take a job at FSEU?
The challenge to ramp up a new business unit as well as a new site in Munich!
In October 2006, FSEU created the business unit Graphics Solutions - combining hard- and software design, applications and marketing. So actually, it was a challenge for the company as a whole to extend its lead in this particular market providing optimized solutions for embedded graphic environments including car navigation, head-up displays, console displays, virtual dashboards and mobile information terminals.
What kind of support did you receive when starting here?
There was a special program set up for the new employees in Neuried with all sorts of trainings and introductions. I particularly appreciated the inter-cultural training teaching me more about the Japanese mentality.
What did you learn here?
This is my first position as manager – a valuable experience which has been broadening my horizon in many ways.
What is so special about working for FSEU?
I found a group of very motivated people that really stick together, work a lot and push things forward. I also enjoy the close collaboration with colleagues of different nationalities – learning about their habits as well as understanding how they see us.
What prospects do you see for your FSEU future?
Fujitsu – the possibilities are infinite! Therefore I am curious about FSEU’s future steps in the market. For me, being a team lead – the challenges are infinite! So I am really looking forward to a bright FSEU future.

Carine Denison (42) joined us as Marketing Assistant. Her long FSEU career includes different functions in Marketing, Sales, Planning and Repair Service Co-ordination. In 2007, she took the role of purchaser.
How did you come to work for FSEU?
In 1994, I came to work at FSEU as a temporary worker (Zeitarbeit), and got a first good impression of a company that produced "real" goods and sold them all over the world, in opposite to some banking/insurance businesses.
At that time I already had good support from colleagues. Keeping in touch after my assignment was over, I heard of a job vacancy and became an FSEU employee in 1995.
What kind of support did you receive when starting here?
Well, having once been here and knowing the company was of course a big advantage. Nevertheless, the work was different than before and my colleagues were a great help. Not only to mention the colleagues within my department, everybody was quite helpful.
Especially, I'd like to mention my first boss, who taught me a lot about the products we were responsible for, and also about how things worked within FSEU and FJ Limited at that time.
What did you learn here?
A great deal I have to say! First I started as a Marketing Assistant, then later being a Sales Assistant my tasks included Planning as well as Repair Service coordination for our products at that time too... Meaning, with every function and role there were new things to learn.
Right now I'm a Purchaser, which again gives me a totally different perspective, being the customer now... :-)
What experiences have you made abroad or with colleagues on an international level?
Being in touch with Japan every day was definitely something special. There's a great deal to learn about this very interesting culture, and how to communicate with colleagues over there. Sometimes I had the chance to meet my contact person which enhanced the information flow quite a lot.
What is so special about working for FSEU?
FSEU has international staff and is doing international business. This is one of the main points for me - I cannot imagine working in a pure German company.
A big plus is the good atmosphere among the colleagues. I'd assume the "international mix" of all the FSEU people has a lot to do with it. Until today, I can say it's never been boring here.
What would you say to a newcomer at FSEU?
Welcome to the Fujitsu Family!

Shripad Nagarkar (29), Junior Design Engineer, joined FSEU in May 2007, adding Indian as well as US-American experience to our company melting pot.
How did you come to work for FSEU?
I did my Masters in University of Darmstadt, not far from the FSEU head office in Langen. I heard about FSEU from my professors and some fellow students who did their internships there. At the time, FSEU also conducted a project in area of microcontroller applications in cooperation with Hochschule Darmstadt.
What kind of support did you receive when starting here?
From the beginning, I’ve been working in a very diverse group; culturally and experience wise. It was the support from my colleagues which helped me get accustomed quickly to the Fujitsu work culture. The transition from university to industry was made very easy.
What did you learn here?
I started working here with system verification where I had to verify the integration of USB macro.
Later I moved to design architecture for improving the performance of 16 bit CPU. I clearly remember my first project which was delayed due to various reasons. But the team work, dedication and determination got us through. This is the most important thing I learned in FSEU.
What is so special about working for FSEU?
When I got here I was shouldered with lot of responsibilities. But it was not overwhelming at all. The faith of my manager and the support from my colleagues gave me the confidence to perform my best. I feel really well respected.
What prospects do you see for your FSEU future?
As the different teams in FSEU work closely together and are very flexible, I see vast opportunities for me here in the future. I want to continue working in designing microcontrollers, and I believe that with the vast experience I am gathering continuously, I will be capable of leading a design group one day.
What would you say to a newcomer at FSEU?
Come with bundle of energy, because the possibilities here are infinite! |
